If there is a beauty tip or trick out there, more than likely I’ve tried it. A lot of them have merit while others can leave you looking like a hot mess! I’ve experienced quite a few hot mess moments, like when I used mascara to cover my gray and then worked out. Well, I missed the all important tip... WATERPROOF! I had brown/Black streaks running down my face. Like I said, hot mess!

Because I love y’all and don’t want y’all to walk in my foot steps I’ve put together a short list of beauty hacks that actually DO work! Wether it’s in a moment of desperation or something you add to your beauty routine these tips won’t let you down!

Damaged, Dry hair?

Coconut oil (for everything) but particularly for a strengthening and hydrating hair treatment. Depending on the length of your hair you will need to melt anywhere from 2T to 1C, apply roots to ends and cover with a plastic shower cap. Leave on for as little as 15 minutes or as long as overnight. Shampoo twice then follow your usual regimen. This is particularly wonderful for over processed hair!

No curling iron?

Take a pencil and wrap your hair around it, then apply heat with your flat iron by clamping it along the hair wrapped pencil. Smaller sections wrapped tightly make tighter curls. If you want looser waves wrap larger sections loosely. And voila!

Perfect cat eye? Yes please!

Take a piece of scotch tape and apply to the corner of each eye towards the end of your eyebrow. Next apply your eye liner straight across like you normally would. Because of the angle of the scotch tape when you remove it you will be left with perfect clean cat eye liner. My suggestion is to do this first thing and then apply foundation and concealer.

out of fingernail polish remover?

ou probably have the next best thing in the kitchen. Take equal parts lemon juice and white vinegar mix and use a cotton ball to remove your polish!

Lipstick on your shirt?

No problem! Apply hairspray to a damp washcloth and gently wipe the stain. Poof, it’s gone.

out of bronzer?

Coco powder isn’t just for baking. In a pinch the chocolatey goodness can be used for bronzer and contour. Make sure you use unsweetened, otherwise your face will end up really sticky.

Don’t have time to get to the salon?

Take WATERPROOF mascara, brown or dark brown usually works best for most hair shades. Apply to the roots let it dry and then lightly brush.

So, those are my back. Tried and tested! I would love to hear from you and know what beauty hacks have worked for you.
