Today's Tips - Episode 8

I can’t think of a moment in my life where I wasn’t either interested in or doing something that had to do with hair and makeup. When I was 2 years old my grandmother used to stand me up on the toilet, fix my hair and put makeup on means then take me “ uptown”. She introduced me to beauty tips like applying a little perfume to your tongue for sweet smelling breath and always using your lipstick on your cheeks as well for a perfect coordinating flush of color. These are just a couple of the beauty tips she passed my way.

Other countries around the world share this same tradition, the passing down of treasured beauty secrets. Over the years whenever I meet a woman from another country I always ask them if they have any cultural beauty secrets they could share with me. Without fail the answer is yes! Here are a few I would like to pass along to you!

Add 8 drops of tea tree oil to your bottle of shampoo. Tea tree is hydrating, anti microbial, anti bacterial, and anti inflammatory. This product is great for overall scalp health but particularly great for dry scalp and dandruff.

New Zealand:
Manuka honey is not only tasty but also has a variety of health and beauty benefits. This dark rich honey is loaded with antioxidants as well as anti microbial features. This makes a great guy healer as well as acne fighting mask! So add some to your tea in the morning and then use the rest on your face at night!

Under eye circles be gone! In Germany thin slices of potato are used as an eye treatment for 10 minutes to reduce the appearance and eventually fade under eye circles.

Middle East:
Castor Oil can be worked into the scalp, brows or applied to your eyelashes as a growth enhancer. I vouch for this 100%! Also this miracle oil is worked around the eyes to help reduce under eye circles.

Drink up! In China this means sipping Matcha green tea while in Brazil they enjoy Yerba Mate’ tea. Whichever brew you choose you will be loading up on antioxidants as well as aging fighting polyphenols and drinking your way to you get skin! I’m sold!
